In Dallas, Texas

This weekend, we were in Dallas, Texas visiting my sisters Elisabeth and Christina and my brother-in-law, Jason. We had a great time together! Jason is a student at the police academy. In just a few months, Jason will be a police officer in Lewisville, TX. Christina cooked us some incredible meals which included fajitas and guacamole and an awesome lemon picatta chicken.

On Friday evening, we went to the Mesquite Championship Rodeo. It has been a long time since we had so much fun as a family! Jason is one of the rodeo hands, and took care of getting us great seats. As the evening's program got underway, the announcer said, "It is not politically correct, but here, in Texas, we pray and ask God to guide the evening. Please bow your heads for the opening prayer and remain standing for the singing of the national anthem." It was thrilling to stand amid thousands of patriotic Texans and hear them shout and whoop as the prayer and the playing of the national anthem came to a close.

Monday morning we head back to Wichita and then on to Kansas City. Right now the plan is to be back in Buffalo, sometime on Thursday afternoon. Thank you for your prayers. We have had a few kinks with the vehicle, but as always, the Lord is taking care of us. More on this later.

I will try to post a slideshow of the rodeo later. Thanks so much for checking in with us today!

Until next time,
ST

Jason, the handsome cowboy.

Riding 2,500 pounds of living meat is not my idea of fun!

Check out the cowboy version of the zamboni!

The chuckwagon race roared through the arena and dirt flew onto everyone in the stands

Hi, Troells,
You win the prize for mileage with babies!! Glad you had a safe and fun trip. We were probably in TN while you were in our neck of the woods... next trip to Wichita, we'll have to get together. The rodeo pics are neat--The Mesquite Rodeo is the BEST! Similar prayer is offered before every rodeo here, as well. Your girls are so cute!!
