Dinner with Friends

A few nights ago, Jocelyn and I had some friends over for dinner––Jim and Heather Karriman. We very much enjoyed the company of Jim and Heather. They are a sweet couple (not sure about Jim). They have a daughter named Alyssa who is three days older than Abigail. It was fun to watch the two play together! They had fun chasing each other and talking. Alyssa did all the talking and Abbie listened, only chiming in with her two cents every so often. Pretty amazing, but Alyssa's vocabulary is very impressive for her age! It was a riot listening to her talk about different things.

A beautiful smile!

How does this phone work?

The Ghost of Children Present...

A few days ago, I was sitting in my office working. I heard a growling noise coming from the hallway. "GRRRRRRRRRR" thump, thump..."GRRRRRRRRRR" thump, thump..."GRRRRRRRRRR" thump, thump...

I finally realized it was Abigail coming down the hallway to "scare Daddy". I grabbed my camera and here is what I saw...

The ghost approaches...

Run for your lives!!!

She isn't as scary as she looks!

Off to scare someone else!

Cabin Fever

The other day, I was going a little stir crazy, so I decided to get some more flics of my child. Jocelyn is getting near the end of this pregnancy and really wanting to have this second baby. We are praying that all will be well and that this new little addition will come into this world safe and healthy.

Until the next post,

A Rare Photo...

The other day, we ventured out into the frigid tundra of what we call New York, and I took a rare moment to snap a family photo that included Jocelyn. She is not a fan of being on the lens side of the camera, but she obliged me this once. No, I did not shave!

I am so grateful to God for the opportunity to work at home for this time. I am loving it! When I get a little bored, I love nothing more than to wander to the other part of the house and squeeze my beautiful wife and toss my precious little Abbie into the air! God is so good!

We Miss Tennessee!

This week, I came across this photo taken by Mr. and Mrs. King at Temple. We sure miss being at our church in Tennessee and are grateful for all the Lord taught us while there.

Only a few more weeks before the second little one will arrive in this world! Both mother and baby are doing well. We are excited!

I love working at home...

One of the greatest things in the world is to be able to walk seven steps to see my little Abbie on the floor playing. Right up there, too is hearing her little feet pattering around the house and hearing her delightful squeals as she plays with her toys. It is at these times that I am reminded of how good God has been to me and my family. As we prepare to add another little rugrat to the pack, I am reminded of the blessings of children. It is amazing how the heart is enlarged and the capacity to love increases! No doubt, it will happen again with the arrival of the one in the cooker!

Tuesday, I heard the sound of Abbie squealing in delight as she played with her books. She loves books. Her favorite is the Foot Book by Dr. Seuss. We read this almost every night before bed!

I walked in to her gloating at the spread of books she had laid before her. Immediately, the Lord reminded me that she is mine only for a brief moment and before I realize it, she will be all grown up, and I will be able to hear her delighted giggles no longer! Time has a way of fleeting before our eyes. We must seize each opportunity to influence our children for good and for God.

Thanks for taking the time to visit today. Please keep praying for us. The Lord is so good to us. Each day, He provides and proves Himself! Let us trust Him and not lean on our own arm of flesh, for it will certainly fail!

Until next time,

Kinda Chilly Up Here!

For many of the readers of this blog, the weather has turned cold. My blood is used to the mild Tennessee winters and not accustomed to the cold northern temperatures.

I saw this on our local news website...

No, this has not been altered in any way! The temperatures are real!

OK, on to the real post. I will work at being more faithful to posting each week.

The Lord has been so good to us! He is supplying so many needs. We have quite a few opportunities for work here in the next few weeks. While I was in Tennessee recently, I had the joy of listening to my hero, Pastor Clarence Sexton preach a message about jumping out of the boat like Peter. God used that to remind me of how good he has been to us in His provision at every turn in life. The Lord is gently teaching us another in the series of lessons of what it means to trust Him. Let us be careful to give the Lord the glory in our lives!
