Today, we feature Katie all alone with Grampa Britt. These two were snuggling together and I had to take a photo of it.

Priceless Smile

Priceless smile!

We are looking forward to Memorial Day on Monday. I cannot wait until my children can understand and appreciate the sacrifice of the countless brave men and women who have given their lives in defence of our freedom. It sobers me to think of the great price that has been paid for our freedom. Let us pray that the Lord will continue to protect our servicemen and women in harm's way all across the world.

Today was a beautiful day although it was overcast. I thought it would be a good thing to take the girls outside and get a few snaps. Enjoy!

This is what Abbie looks like after falling head-first down a flight of stairs at church. Yes, someone missed catching her (not me or Joce).

Mommie and Daddy bought Abbie a bracelet for her first birthday. She actually likes to wear "pretties" to church.

Daddy holding the hand of his little girl. Someday, that same hand will be giving her away in marriage.

Week's End Post

For all of you faithful blog-checkers out there who check my blog often––please overlook the delay in posting this week. As you know, life can sometimes get rolling so fast that we begin to drop some things in order to pick some others up. The blog often is one of those items which, unfortunately, goes by the wayside for a time. Not that I don't want to keep up with it, I just do not make the time. (I think there might be a message in there somewhere!) Enjoy these photos.

Thanks for checking in!

First Post for the Week

I know the information posted these past few weeks has been rather sparse, but that is because things have been really hectic! We are doing well up here in the Great White North––thankfully the snow is long gone!!! I have some cute photos planned for the week, so hopefully I will be able to get them up for your viewing pleasure.

Recently, I have heard from a number of people about how they check the blog every day for new updates. Typically, I try to have new content up on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This does not always happen, but it is something I work at.

Something I have been doing: As we go through life, we see the Lord work in our lives and answer specific prayers. I have begun typing out a short description of the request and the answer to prayer. I also journal when the Lord does something for us. I have been looking back over the last few entries and have seen how many things the Lord does for our family! He is so good to us. Often, we grumble and complain about the small inconveniences in life, and we forget to count our blessings. As the song says, "count your many blessings, see what God hath done!"

Thanks for tuning in!

Pluggin' Away

There is not much to report other than the fact that we are staying very busy trying to keep up with all that is going on. The girls are doing well–they are all healthy and strong.

Recently, I took the opportunity to take a few photographs of Abbie in a cute outfit with Mommy and Katie. I know...I got more of Abbie than the other two, but look real hard, they are in the photos.

Thanks again for tuning in.

San Francisco

This past week was my sister Jo's graduation from college. We had a great time together as a family. A few of the family members were missing. Among the absent were Jason (Liz's husband), Jocelyn (my better half), and Abbie and Katie (the two most beautiful girls in the world). We missed you! By the way, these photos were taken with a point-and-shoot.

We visited the interesting Winchester House. This is NOT a haunted house, but a very interesting Victorian home owned by the wife of Mr. Winchester, the famous gun manufacturer.

Of course, we had to stop at the famous Ghirardelli Chocolate factory! Yum, yum!

We found a little friend not far from the famous Lombard Street.

A couple of Alcatraz

Fisherman's Wharf

And, of course, I had to include a photo of my little lady!

I am heading home late Monday via a red-eye flight on the world's greatest airline. I will be arriving on Tuesday at noon. Thanks for tuning in!

Day at the Park (Video)

On Saturday, we went to the park as a family. What a blast we had together! There is nothing like being with my family. Click here for the video.

Don't Quit (Video)

I love to hear stories of people who just don't quit. We live in a society which teaches that if things get hard, that you can give up and find something else to do. Growing up, I heard many great stories. Sometimes you are not sure if they are all true or not. Until now, I had never known the validity of it. I ran across this on the blog of a friend.

-----------------------------------------

It was the most memorable moment of the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. Four years earlier, just 10 minutes before the starting gun, record-holder Derek Redmond had withdrawn from running the 400 meter race due to an Achilles tendon injury. Five surgeries and four years later he wanted to win a medal.

Moments into the race Derek was in the lead, a shoo-in to win the race with only 175 meters to go. Then he heard a pop – his right hamstring snapped. He fell to the surface. After the other runners passed him, he got up on one leg and started hopping, not toward the infield and the medics and stretchers, but toward the finish line.

65,000 people in the stands and millions around the world watched via television and they were all clapping, cheering and crying. Derek’s dad jumped from the stands to support his trip down the track. At the last moment Jim Redmond let go of his son so he could cross the line alone.

-----------------------------------------

I do not blindly endorse YouTube, but you gotta check out this video.

We need more fathers who will teach their children to finish the race which God has given them. Don't quit!
