Our Children and the Bible

It should be the desire of every parent that their children follow the Lord. What a wonderful joy it is to see families who follow God. Often I have heard the term "get in the Bible" to refer to a personal devotional life. Recently, I opened my Bible to read, only to discover that Abbie had "gotten in the Word." The only problem is that she used a pen....just like she has seen Daddy do. This was not my idea of a good way for her to spend time in the Bible at this young age.

Abbie in the Leaves

Things have been incredibly busy, so I have been lax on posting. Thanksgiving was strangely quiet and very pleasant.

Here is a pic to get your week started. Abbie loves the outdoors! She constantly asks to go "suh-side" (outside). Katie continues to grow. She is pulling herself up on everything. I think she will be walking soon. I am such a blessed man! I am grateful to God for my beautiful wife and my two beautiful daughters! Have a great week!

Story Time

Good Monday morning! I can hardly believe that this week is Thanksgiving week. These past few weeks, I have tried to begin helping my family by spending Saturday evening bathing the girls and reading to them. It helps Jocelyn to have a bit of a break and I certainly enjoy spending time with my little princesses. This week and last, Katie has been put to bed before I could bathe her, but I have a great time with them both! Recently, I was reading a story to Abbie when Joce got a snapshot of us. These are sweet times!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Blog Catchup

Like many of my blogger friends, I have lagged a bit on my posting. It seems that things have only gotten busier over the past weeks. That said, this post is a short one with no shortage of photos. Sorry, no photos of Katie this time. Again, I must say how much I love my family. I am grateful for the wonderful wife and the two sweet little girls God has given me.

On another note, I have been listening to quite a few sermons recently. In one of the messages, I was reminded this week that we must live above the clouds. Many things demand our attention, but we must give our attention to the "one thing [which] is needful" (Luke 10:42). Have a great day!

Veteran's Day

More than fifty years ago, my grandfather, Cleon Simpson Young, became a veteran in the service of the United States. He enlisted in the United States Seabees and served with distinction and honor. Not a great deal is know as to where he served during World War II, but we know that his group of Seabees faced some of the fiercest fighting as they did their important work of clearing unfriendly islands, making way for airstrips and other vital supply routes. I am grateful for the sacrifice of my grandfather, and the thousands of other men who became a part of what has been called the "Greatest Generation".

We must love our veterans and be grateful to God for those who are willing to sacrifice all in the defence of our nation's freedom. Freedom is only purchased at the price of great sacrifice and blood of the men and women who stand ready to defend our nation to the death. We must honor these veterans who so willingly have offered their all for us to live and breathe in the liberty and freedom we enjoy.

We must renew our efforts to be all that God desires for us to be and to influence those around us to love God, to live for Him, and be grateful to those who have defended our wonderful nation!

The Girls

The weather has really gotten chilly up here in the Great White North. Buffalo, NY got a smattering of snow today. Thankfully, it has not stayed.

Things have been really busy for the Troells, and God is good to us! Here are a few photos from the other day. Enjoy!
